The Milwaukee Bucks made one of the most shocking moves of the NBA offseason when they swooped in and stole former Indiana Pacers star center Myles Turner in free agency.

No one saw the Bucks as a possible contender to sign Turner. They didn’t have much cap space and Turner was looking for between $25 to $30 million per season. For the first time in his career, Turner was expected to stay with the Pacers and rumors about him leaving town had completely died down.

Despite it seeming like Turner would remain in Indiana after the team’s run to the NBA Finals, he shocked the league by agreeing to terms on a four-year, $108 million contract with Milwaukee.

Turner has been quite vocal since leaving the Pacers. He has ruffled the feathers of the fan base that used to root for him night in and night out. To say that the rivalry between Indiana and the Bucks is healthy would be an understatement.

With that being said, Turner has been issued a stern warning following his decision to leave the Pacers.

Justin Termine, an NBA analyst, opened up on the “Setting the Pace” podcats in Indiana. He issued a stern warning to Turner, sharing his belief that the veteran center will regret leaving the Pacers.

“I think Victor Oladipo is the perfect example of someone who regrets that decision (to leave the Pacers), and it certainly could happen with Myles Turner because even if Giannis is healthy this year and stays, that team isn’t winning a first-round series in my estimation,” Termine said.

Last season with Indiana, Turner played in 72 games. He averaged 15.6 points per game to go along with 6.5 rebounds, two blocks, and 1.5 assists, while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor and 39.6 percent from three-point range.

On one hand, he could fit perfectly with Giannis Antetokounmpo and be a big part of keeping the “Greek Freak” in Milwaukee. However, if Antetokounmpo chooses to leave the Bucks, Turner could be stuck in mediocrity very quickly with his new team.

Only time will tell, but Turner’s decision has been made. Fans will look forward to seeing him face off against his old team on four separate occasions during the 2025-26 season that is coming up quickly.
