The Cleveland Cavaliers were the best team in the Eastern Conference during the regular season last year. When all was said and done, they finished with a 64-18 record.

While the regular season was a smashing success, the season did not end as the team had hoped. They took care of business in the first round of the NBA Playoffs by defeating the Miami Heat in a sweep. However, in the second round they ran into the Indiana Pacers.

In that series against the Pacers, the Cavaliers never looked like themselves. Cleveland ended up losing the series in five games and headed into the offseason with questions that needed to be answered.

So far this offseason, the Cavaliers have made a few moves. Most notably, they pulled off a trade with the Chicago Bulls that brought Lonzo Ball to town. Now, they’re being talked about as a potential suitor for another interesting addition.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Cleveland is a team to watch for former No. 2 overall pick Victor Oladipo.

“A source tells cleveland.com that a member of the front office was in attendance for Victor Oladipo’s recent Vegas-based workout,” Fedor wrote. “Oladipo, 33, is trying to resuscitate his NBA career, proving to NBA decision-makers that he is healthy and can still be effective.”

Following his workout, Oladipo took to social media to share his own message to NBA teams. He is clearly very hopeful of being given another chance to return to the game he loves.

“I feel so great right now!!” Oladipo wrote. “Better than I felt in the last 7 years mind, body and soul. I know I am a fighter! I know I am a warrior! I have seen every lens this game and this league has to offer. I know I can help any team in any role win in any way! I also know the people want to see me succeed in this game and play at the highest level again. My injuries are behind me and it will never happen again! I am at peace with that and my past. I’m ready to build a present now and future of a life time.”

Throughout his NBA career to this point, Oladipo has played in 504 career games and made 399 starts. He has career averages of 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game and has shot 43.6 percent from the floor and 34.7 percent from three-point distance.

He would be far from a guarantee if the Cavaliers did sign him, but he might be worth taking a flier on. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
